Kitchen Laminate Worktops

There are three widths of laminate kitchen worktops:
- 600mm wide kitchen worktops

600 mm wide kitchen worktops are the normal depth, with just the front edge proformed, and are designed to fit on a normal run of units where the standard cabinet is 560 mm deep, the door is 20 mm deep, which leaves a worktop overhang of approximately 20 mm at the front.
- 665mm wide kitchen worktops

665 mm wide kitchen worktops which have both long edges post-formed and can be used either as a breakfast bar, or one edge can be trimmed off to provide a 650 mm deep worktop where extra depth is required, for instance where an integrated dishwasher or washing machine is to be fitted under the worktop.
- 900mm wide kitchen worktops

900 mm wide kitchen worktops which also have two post-formed edges and is used for wider breakfast bars or special features. Beware – these worktops are very heavy, difficult to unload and to manoeuvre into the house – avoid them if you can!!
There are two finishes to our laminate kitchen worktops; a SMOOTH MATT FINISH which may also have a texture applied. It is slightly more hard wearing than the GLOSS finish, which is really attractive and “granite-like” in appearance. Although it is far more resistant to scratching than previously, it does require some extra care and attention and we urge you to read the cautions on the main site before deciding on a high gloss finish. It is definitely not suitable if “Hubby” regularly cuts the bread without a chopping board!!
